Remembering Christmas, looking forward to the New Year

So, all our trees and lights are down, we’re back at school and (if you were lucky enough to get a break!) work, it’s twelfth night and the weather has reversed back into autumn.

Here’s a reminder, in pictures, of the hard work our members put in to our Christmas music extravaganza at Tesco in King’s Lynn.

Musical resolutions for New Year

Ihny2015t’s New Year’s Day, so it’s time to make those little promises to yourself about what you’re going to achieve this year. Even better, make those promises to the world (on our Facebook page, or as a comment right here on our website), and you’ll be much more likely to keep them!

Just to get you thinking, here are ten ideas for musical resolutions:

  1. Learn a new instrument.
  2. Get out an old instrument you haven’t played for years.
  3. Learn a new piece.
  4. Clean or polish your instrument!
  5. Get the piano tuned.
  6. Join a new group.
  7. Go and see a musical performance, but make it something very different from what you would usually choose!
  8. Read a biography of your favourite musician.
  9. If you’re a member of West Norfolk Music Centre, bring a friend along.
  10. If you’re not a member, join us!

Happy New Year!

Meet the trustees

The trustees of West Norfolk Music Centre are responsible for deciding how the centre is run, and for making sure that it meets its obligations as a registered charity. Now you can find out a little more about each of the trustees on our website.

Of course, the Centre could not run without its dedicated staff and teachers, and we will be adding mini-biographies for each of them too, so come back again soon!

End-of-term concert 6 December 2014

Come along to West Norfolk Music Centre’s end-of-term concert on Saturday 6 December at 7pm at Springwood High School, King’s Lynn. Hear our groups and individual performers, enjoy refreshments during the interval and try your luck in our ever-popular raffle.

Open to the public, everyone welcome to see what we do, and to be inspired to join us!

Sell on eBay, donate to WNMC

West Norfolk Music Centre now has an account with the PayPal Giving Fund, allowing eBay sellers (whether or not they are members of the Centre) to donate some or all of their sale proceeds to us.

If you are a keen eBay user, why not list some of your items in support of the Music Centre. Your donation can be as little as 10% of the sale price, and eBay’s insertion fee and final value fees are waived on the donation. Even better, if you’re a taxpayer, the PayPal Giving Fund can claim Gift Aid on the donation before passing the whole amount on.

To get involved, follow the instructions at http://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebayforcharity/sell.html. It’s simple: just use the ‘advanced sell’ form the first time you want to donate, and you’ll be able to link your account to ours. Then you’ll be given the option to donate on any future listings too.
