More information from King’s Lynn Corn Exchange:

Classical music ensemble the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) are coming to King’s Lynn next week. The visit, part of their ‘Three Town Tour’, sees them performing at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange, visiting local schools, working with local choirs and performing at the Park House Hotel, bringing classical music to as many different people as possible.

On Friday 1 May they’ll be here at the Corn Exchange to perform an all-ages concert with community choir The Thetford Singers, and local primary schools. In this concert sea shanties sit alongside classics such as Handel’s Zadok the Priest, one of CBBC’s Ten Pieces repertoire which aims to inspire a generation of children to get creative with classical music.

Introduced from the stage, you will have the chance to learn more about what the Orchestra are playing, the composers and the period instruments they love playing on! Plus there’s even a chance to join in, with the audience encouraged to lend their voices to the uplifting, new song for massed voices, Watercycle, performed by The Thetford Singers and local primary schools.

On Saturday 2 May, the Orchestra will be at Alive Lynnsport with one of their popular OAE TOTS shows. Designed especially for the youngest of music lovers (2–5 years), the concert incorporates masterpieces by Purcell and Handel alongside sing-alongs for all the family.
