On Saturday 16th May, the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra is performing

Elgar: Froissart Overture
Brahms: Violin Concerto
Dvořák: Symphony No. 7

At the Corn Exchange, Kings’ Lynn at 7.30pm.

Elgar’s English heroic chivalry, Dvořák’s Bohemian warmth and, between these amazing works, one of music’s greatest and best loved works, Brahms’ stunning Violin Concerto, what more could we ask?

A maximum of 3 free “Young Concert-goers” tickets for every one adult. Additional children at the normal price. There are a total of 100 free tickets available. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Young Concert-goers tickets are available on a first come first served basis.

World-renowned Orchestra comes to King’s Lynn Corn Exchange

Events will appeal to all our members, on Friday 1 May at the Corn Exchange and, for our youngest members and their even younger brothers and sisters, at Lynnsport on Saturday 2 May (at 10am and 11.30am, so fit it in around your activities at the Music Centre!). Also at Park House, Sandringham, on Thursday 30 April.

Classical music ensemble the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) are coming to King’s Lynn next week. The visit, part of their ‘Three Town Tour’, sees them performing at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange, visiting local schools, working with local choirs and performing at the Park House Hotel, bringing classical music to as many different people as possible.

On Friday 1 May they’ll be here at the Corn Exchange to perform an all-ages concert with community choir The Thetford Singers, and local primary schools. In this concert sea shanties sit alongside classics such as Handel’s Zadok the Priest, one of CBBC’s Ten Pieces repertoire which aims to inspire a generation of children to get creative with classical music.

Introduced from the stage, you will ​​have the chance to learn more about what the Orchestra are playing, ​the composers and the period instruments they love playing on! Plus there’s even a chance to join in, with the audience encouraged to lend their voices to the uplifting, new song for massed voices, Watercycle, performed by The Thetford Singers and local primary schools.

On Saturday 2 May, the Orchestra will be at Alive Lynnsport with one of their popular OAE TOTS shows. Designed especially for the youngest of music lovers (2–5 years), the concert incorporates masterpieces by Purcell and Handel alongside sing-alongs for all the family.

Polymnia chamber choir, King’s Lynn Minster, 9 April 2015

West Norfolk Music Centre members may be interested in this concert on Thursday 9 April, featuring chamber choir Polymnia. As with recent concerts by Norfolk Symphony Orchestra, tickets for (accompanied) under-18s are free.

King's Lynn Music SocietyKing’s Lynn Music Society presents John Byron in a piano recital, playing works by Rachmaninov, Beethoven, Ireland, Haydn & Mendelssohn.

The recital is at 7.30pm on 19 November 2014 at King’s Lynn Town Hall. Refreshments at 7pm.
