Work for us

Music Teachers

Our music teachers provide individual and group tuition, as well as running small ensembles and larger groups.

From time to time, we have vacancies for self-employed music teachers, and these will be advertised here and on our Facebook page. If there are no vacancies advertised, we would still welcome expressions of interest, as demand for teachers can change at short notice. Please contact us with your CV.

We are open Saturday mornings, with most activities taking place between 9am and 1pm (some are a little earlier or later). We meet 10 times each school term, excluding the first and last Saturday of the half-term holiday, and we would normally expect teachers to commit to all of these dates to provide continuity for our students.

Most of our teachers have a music degree or similar qualification, and/or a formal teaching qualification. We would also consider other candidates with suitable experience. We require and can arrange a current DBS check.

Volunteers and administrative staff

We are grateful for the work done by our volunteers, without whom we would not be able to run a successful music centre or concerts and events. Many of our volunteers and their children also take part in our groups, and we particularly welcome those who can give a little time to prepare and serve refreshments, to help set up and pack away equipment, and to co-ordinate and promote our events and activities.

We also pay a small termly honorarium to a few key individuals who take on greater responsibilities and commitment to run music centre. Currently, these are our administrator, assistant administrator and finance officer. If you would be interested in considering one of these roles, if and when a vacancy arises, please come and get involved as a member or volunteer.
